Answer: Here are the names of those justices:

John Hessin Clarke - served 1916 to 1922
Died of syphilis

Edward Douglass White - served 1894 to 1921
Died of complications related to papillomavirus (genital warts)

Gabriel Duvall - served 1811 - 1835
Died of syphilis

While it's certainly an amazing fact, I certainly don't agree that these
men's death are worthy of laughter. Treatments for syphilis prior to
the era of modern medicine were quite crude. Justice Duvall subjected
himself to hot wax injections and had leeches applied to his genitals in
an attempt to rid himself of the disease.

Justice White did not even know the cause of the warts that afflicted
him. He died of gangrene, likely able to set in because of the constant
closing and reopening of the sores around his genitals.

Justice Clarke's kept his condition a secret for many years. An autopsy
performed after his death was later covered up by his family members.
His grandson's death in 1989 allowed researchers access to his records.
