"In Oregon, it is a class E felony to use skywriting for anything other than marriage proposals."

What is a "class E" felony, exactly?

  1.

    Exactly?

    Extra
    Extremely
    Especially
    Extrodinarily
    Evil.

It's more serious than a class F felony but not as serious as a class D felony.

Do I have to add, "Duh"?

  2.

I thought it was something committed by a Class E felon. Like arsen is committed by an arsenist.

    -eyeroll-

I was asking for like, as standard. Like what is a class E felony? What happens when you commit one? Do you go to jail? Do you get a slap on the wrist and are let free to your sky-writing antics? Do you get a fine? How big is this fine?

    Etc.

    All of the above.

    How big is this fine?

    Huge. Around 14 inches.

14 inches? I think you're bragging. I haven't heard of a fine that large outside of the sticky pages of _Police Officer's Quarterly_.

Felonies are serious crimes, and they are ordered by a system of classification using letters. The closer the letter is to the beginning of the alphabet, the more severe the applicable punishment. In Oregon, a class E felony is an offense punishable by up to 5 years incarceration and a $250,000 fine.
