K, this one is oldish but still good =)

So there's this cowboy, and for identification, we'll name him Joe. And since he's a cowboy, his full name will be "Long Drawl" Joe McTavvart. But since that's really long, we'll just call him Joe. So, Joe the cowboy, he's going from town to town, looking for a fast horse. Finally he comes across a horse salesman with a very elegant, muscular young mustang. Joe asks the salesman if the horse can go fast. "Fast?" says the salesman. "He could outrun just about any moving object in these here parts, and do it again t'marra!" (forgive the attempt to 'talk' properly in character)

"Great!" says Joe. "I'll buy him off'a ya, if ya please."

"No problem," said the salesman. "But just one warning: he was taught by an ancient Indian elder, so he responds differently than most horses. When you want him to get movin', yu'r s'posed ta say "Klousawan", or just tell 'im "Close one", it'll work well enough. 'N when you want him to stop, he was taught "Mauvinaut" but you can use "Movin' out", and it'll work just the same."

Strange, thought Joe, but if that's what it takes to have the fastest horse around, that's good enough for me! Joe bought the horse, named it Pasanewbye (Passin' you by), then headed out for wild adventures.

One day, Joe was riding Pasa (as he liked to call him) and enjoying the briliant sunrise. Then Joe looked where Pasa was going, and noticed they were headed straight towards the edge of the cliff! Joe tried pulling on the reins, but that just made Pasa go faster. In a panic, Joe shouted out, "Stop! Halt! Quit it! Stay! Whooooooaaaaahhh!!!" but nothing worked! Joe was gripping on for dear life, too scared to jump at such a high speed...

The edge of the cliff came closer and closer...

    Still Pasa rode on...

Then just as he was about to give up hope, suddenly Joe remembered the instructions that the salesman had given. "Movin' out!" yelled Joe. Pasa came to a came to a quick, but graceful stop, ending only inches away from the edge.

Joe looked up at the sky, glad to have survived. Then he peered over the head of his horse, looking down on the huge drop below them.

Joe rubbed the sweat from his face.

"Whew!" he stated, and took a deep breath. "That was a close one!"
