    I believe that factoid was created through our own independent research. I couldn't tell you the lead fact checker on that project, Legatissimo probably knows. Haven't seen him around for a while though...

    The note from the fact checker (not me, but it wasn't signed, so I'm not sure who it was, though I have my suspicions) indicates that it was a May 2007 Gallup poll paid for by the United Nations Economic Commission on Africa. It's intent was to determine a way to get more interest in Darfur.

    The UN Commission on Proper Grammar in English-Speaking Countries has the intent of teaching people the difference between its and it's. It's failing in its mission, apparently. :cry:
