Question: on the fact about lightning when you say that "it almost always strikes twice" do you mean that is almost always strikes twice in the same place? or something else?

Answer: High speed photography has revealed that what we perceive as a single
bolt of lightning is actually a complicated series of strikes--
perhaps 40 to 60 discharges over the course of a few microseconds. In
that sense, lightning always strikes dozens of times!

But that was not the point of the post. The article "On the
statistical frequency of repeated lightning strikes", appearing in
the Scandinavian J. Meteorology, Series B vol 22 (1993), pp
1226-1229, reports that most places hit by lightning once are hit a
second, or even third or fourth time within ten years. (The Atlantic
Ocean, for example, has been hit over and over again.)

there is also anecdotal evidence that certain people are lightning-attractive. i have never been anywhere near a lightning strike, to my knowledge, but my mate has been been the "lucky" recipient of a half-dozen near hits.
