Kudos to Zack for a fine post this morning. Though I was initially opposed to the feature-style updates, I am now thoroughly convinced this was the right way to expand the content we offer to our users.

As a way of saying thanks, I'm currently in the process of locating a copy of the Soviet-era Star Wars. After I locate a copy and superimpose translated subtitles onto it, we can have a pizza party at my flat.

Also, as an added note, I have a copy of Gone With the Wind in Khmer, the language of Cambodia. The two most famous lines come out as follows:

Praying to god who looks at me, my stomach will always be satisfied.

Forthrightly, mother of my child, it's either the monsoon or the drought.

"Either the monsoon or the drought" is, of course, a Cambodian idiom. In everyday usage is much more akin to the French "such is life" or its American counterpart "that's life." However, in this context, Rhett is using the idiom to express that that he does not care one way or the other. This would not be lost on a Cambodian audience. However, "I don't give a damn" also captures Rhett's condemnation of Scarlett. While the translation loses this extra layer of meaning, Clark Gable's acting clearly translates those feelings to any audience.
