I do not believe there is a space between Lady and Bird.
I've been out with some ladies and some birds and I can tell you there's a lot of space between them! 
My wife is of course a lady. (especially if she reads this.)
Americans tend not to use 'bird' to mean a young(ish) female.
Was she actually a bird? I'm really confused right now...

I always suspected.
I realise that most people outside the UK wouldn't use the term "Bird" for a young human female. In fact these days most people in the UK wouldn't either! It's my fault for not being able to resist attempting to make a joke.
