First off, I love the site, think it's great.
I question the claim about Sam Adams making the first "blog." Isn't "blog" short for "weblog," as in, world wide web log? That would make the "Boston Log" just a diary. The presence of an acronym/homonym doesn't pass muster in my book.
You're absolutely right. It wasn't a "blog" in the "weblog" sense of the word. However, it was called his blog. Sure, it's not technically accurate in a very narrow semantic understanding, but it is an interesting little tidbit...trivia in the truest sense of the word.
