I'll certainly recommend it to other people here. Many might be interested in something like this. There is a private subsection of this website called Gullible's Travels to which you do not have access. I will arrange for this to be copied there.

    Thank you for your posting!

EDIT: I'm sorry. I hope I don't get banned for extending this thread.

Way back in the pre-mass-internet days, ( April 1977 I believe) The Guardian newspaper had a multi-page holiday section on an island archipelago called San Serrife. I believe it was renamed because the Spanish sounding name was not good for the tourist industry. The name Fontainebleu rings a bell. I do remember that the highest point was Mount Kern, and some type of face was carved on the side.

Does anyone know what it is called now or how easy it is to book a vacation there? Alternatively, are there any other destinations you would recommend? And please be serious about this as it is in the Citation Station.

I believe the best place I've ever been (for vacation) is the island nation of Islas de los Papas. (Islands of the Popes). This is a tiny island country in the Indian Ocean, colonized by the Spanish in 1488. It's been the vacation spot of just about every Pope since that time. No automobiles or even bicycles are allowed on the islands. You can only get to the island by rowboat (since motor boats are not allowed). It's just gorgeous, pristine land inhabited by about 150 persons. Expect to pay a king's ransom for a week's stay, though, and pass a very tough screening process.

One of the unusual holidays available is a tunnel-boring holiday. You stay in a cave which has been 'burrowed' by others before you. You then carve out another piece. It's all monitored and shored by professionals. But you get to add a little plaque to the side saying you had done this bit.

Haha yeah, that's so true. People will tell me that they're Indian....And when I ask them how old they were when they moved...they'll tell me that they've never been there.

Athene, can't you smite him anyway:smile:? (Just kidding)

Athene, the so-called Goddess of wisdom. She is proving the adage, "Power corrupts. Absolute power currupts absolutely". If you have a weapon of such power, it is the the act of a bully to threaten others with it just because you can.

And Priya, now part of the bullying entourage, encouraging Athene to fight the good fight. But only if they decide what is good.

We may have to resort to checks and balances. If things do not impove I shall unlock my war-icon chest and brandish 'Thrust' and 'Cudgel'.

Please do make this necessary. I want this forum to be a place of harmony. As the de facto owner of this thread I have the right to ask for that.
