    On December 26, 2005 this was one of the facts,

    Since 1898 the word "ruddy" has moved from a first grade reading level to a 12th grade reading level, one of only 21 words to make this shift.

    Anyone know why the word was moved, and what the other 20 words were that were moved?

    The word ruddy was removed as it is not part of every day language. Like the word onomatopoeia, you don't use it every day. I only know of floccinaucinihilipilification that also made that same switch.

    Another reason why it was moved was because it was frequently confused with its homophone, Rudy. Also, most other grades would use the word rosy or healthy instead of ruddy.

    Blaspheme was another. Due to the reduced importance of religion fewer schoolchildren are raised to fear being blasphemous -- and in fact few even know what it is before the are well into high school. Which is cause and which is effect is debatable, yet the God certainly knows that it is one of the causes behind the sad state of affairs in the United States today.

    My second cousin is a 12th grade teacher. These are the words that are on the list. Unfortunatley, Numbers 12-21 are not on the list as that list was recovered from a house fire in 1999.

    Yes. 1st grade vocabulary has been swooping down drastically. It is expected that by 2140, the word I would be taught in the 2nd grade

    yes -- the mountain range was named for the mints after the explorer who discovered the range, one Vasco De Klims, got lost and survived on nothing but mints and cactus juice for 23 days before he was found by a team of rugby players whose plane had crash landed in the forest.

    Dear citizens,
    Nimro Klims is a serious issue to our world. He is not an internetical human being.
    He is (in fact) real. Full in human flesh. Eyes and all. Please people of earth, this is sanely urgent.
    we must take this into seriousityness. Screw the flying pigs! They won't be here for another 6 years.
    For the time being, we must reject any Nimro Klims matter for it holds an evil loathing power far more
    pungent than that of a particular presidents.

    Back onto topic... I believe Nimro Klims may be the reason for it, well maybe I don't know about the word 'Ruddy', but I do know of some of the other words.
    A couple were ordered by the president...
    I believe one of those were 'Stapler' and I THINK the other was
    'federation'. I'm not positive but I believe that those were two of them.
    Back to Nimro.... I just plain don't like him....

    Stay safe fellow Humans.
