I thought that this would be an interesting topic.
Basically, I think that Disneyland in Orlando, Florida is big enough and has enough "districts"/sections to be it's own town/city. I think it'd be kinda cool if Disney could have it's own city/town thing. Does anyone have any input on this?
Also, I've found an interesting fact about Disneyland in Orlando. Here they are.
- There's a rather large mushroom as you wait for the Alice in Wonderland ride. It is actually an original Disneyland ticket booth.
Does anyone have any others?
= The average suburban town in New Jersey is smaller and less populated than Disneyland.
= When building the futuristic section of Disneyland, Disney contacted many manufacturers of technology for ideas. This is why if you are in that section and you look at the ground, occasionally there will be a pattern resembling a Pokéball.
Disney World is in Orlando. Disney Land is in California.
^^^ Yes, that would be a key tidbit to upholding our high standards of credibility.
Sorry. I've never been good at remembering which one was at which place. Thank you for helping correct this mistake.
Heres a fun one:
On August 23rd, 1965, a day that reached temperatures up to 103 degrees, William Coronado fell asleep in his Mickey Mouse suit and died.

ive heard of disney world before but i thought the only disney land was the one in france lol
funny...
I've got some more facts.
-26 million hand towels are used in Disney's restrooms on average each year.
-1000 brooms are used each year by Disney employees.
-Disneyland employs five people who work full time theming trash cans.
-When an audioanimatronic figure dies at Disneyland, it is given an audioanimatronic funeral.
-Anyone who dies at Disneyland receives a free lifetime pass.
-Disneyland fireworks are all hand made by Amish children.
-Cast members who hear parents telling their children that Disneyland characters are just people in suits are required to immediately phone the child-abuse hotline.
-Everything in Tomorrowland is edible.
-If you look carefully during the opening sequence of Star Tours, you can catch a glimpse of Walt Disney frozen in carbonite.
-In an emergency, Monorail seats double as flotation devices.
-J. Edgar Hoover once auditioned for a part as a Disneyland walk-around character (Snow White).
-Space Mountain isn't really in outer space -- it's in a building.
All right, that last one is kind of obvious.
Can anyone top that?!
Yes, this isnt the right place for the facts so you are disqualified.
What?
Facts go in the fact section.

Just the last one that's obvious, huh
how can someone use a lifetime pass if they are dead?
If they can use it in the afterlife, Disney will be kicking themselves.
They get to come anytime they want, and it will never cost a cent (it's just that they won't be able to want to to, because they're dead).
I don't know about you, but if I died, and had a lifetime DisneyWorld pass, I'd be straight there!
That would be pretty cool to have a lifetime pass.
I think LIFEtime passes may cause offence if you're dead!
Anything could cause offense to anyone, but let's not get into that! I've seen in other threads what can happen when the word offense is brought up!
lol.. well if it's lifetime actually then it will only last for your lifetime so when your dead then you won't be able to use it and you'll still have to pay to get in lol
Yah, cause so many dead people have to pay anyway!

This is untrue. The biuggest myth about Walt Disney is that he was cryogenicaly frozen at death. Upon death I believe that he was creamated. But definately NOT frozen
I'm pretty sure he meant as a star wars related tidbit.. I don't think anyone has successfully been cryogenically frozen.. sorry to burst your bubble.

No, the one in france is EuroDisney.

Then what are Ted William's descendents fighting over?
Nobody's been successfully revived, but many people have been cryogenically preserved.

Yes, but not Walt Disney.
walt disney was cremated.. the end..
I am Walt Disney!
damn.. cremation must have been a real bitch.. lol

I didn't know Walt Disney made Minority Report...
Did you also know he's a gnome? There are lots of things that you can't read in a newspaper.
even though he made up Mickey Mouse, i beleive Walt Disney was afraid of mice
That would mean YOU are a gnome!
-Disney meets fire code regulations for crowd evacuaion only 132 days out of the year.
I got another batch! (And in case no one noticed, one of the facts I posted is on the front page. [Disneyland employs five people who work full time theming trash cans.])
-Each day at the Norway pavilion in Epcot, the first guest on the Maelstrom ride receives a free Viking hat that says "Viking of the Day".
-There is NO gum for sale within any Disney World parks.

Both my brother & sister worked at Disney World when I lived in Orlando as a teen. I ... um... visited the park with them on a couple of occasions, and got to see some behind-the-scenes things. I only ever saw one person working on a trash can, but I can easily see them having several, especially since the trash bins are damaged all the time and they have to do repairs too.
The only time I visited Disney World was around that pagan holiday, Christmas, and the place was too crowded. I liked Epcot more.

1. The generally accepted belief that Disney World's Imagineers have been secretly placing "Hidden Mickeys" throughout the park since it's opening, only to have the first discovered in 1989 - is completely false. In 1989, an employee claimed to have discovered the first of what was believed to be several Mickey Mouse images that had been secretly hidden in "plain sight" by Disney's Imagineers over the years. The resulting surge in what had been a declining public interest prompted Disney officials to encourage this theory, sparking several books and pamphlets that explained the phenomenon and offered hints as to locations of other "Hidden Mickeys". Although later officials admitted that the entire story was fabricated, and that the Hidden Mickeys were, in fact, all added after 1989, public interest in the subject remains high and is believed to be the primary reason for 12% of all visits to Disney World.
2. Of the official 432 "Hidden Mickeys" that exist in Disney World, there are 21 that have never been reported as "found".
3. There are 19 objects with similar enough characteristics to have been mistakenly and repeatedly reported as "Hidden "Mickeys" that Disney World officials removed or significantly modified them so as to avoid future problems. The most costly was an oil stain from a leaking security vehicle near Typhoon Lagoon. The entire area was closed down for 3 days, while the offending walkway was re-paved.
oooh.. i wanna find a hidden mickey now
I found 83 hidden mickeys during my "tours" of the magic kingdom. I remember somebody telling me that I held the world record for finding them, but as I look back on that, I think they were just being patronizing. Hmmph.
That's two "hmmph"'s in one night, Udo. I think you've reached your quota for the week!
I found Mickey Mantle hiding in a baseball card - does that count?
