has anyone noticed that political correctness has gone a bit over the top,
politicians keep renaming things so that it doesn't offend other races, religions or cultures. But they never ask the people who they it may offend if they want the name changing.
For example, in a school at Dewsbury,Yorshire,England they have stopped calling blackboards blackboards and call them chalk boards but when the PTA(parent teacher association) did a survey not one child or parent found the term Blackboard offensive, this is in yorkshire, the City with the second most amount of immigrants in the country from all races and cultures.
At another school in london they banned the book the three little pigs because the headmaster said she thought it was offensive to jews, but yet again no children or adults were offended by the book to start with.
don't get me wrong, I'm all for political correctness but they should ask who they think it offends if they think it should be banned or if the name should be changed.
do you know of any other examples of this kind of thing?
Has anyone besides KRistos and me seen the "Politicaly Correct Book of Fairy Tales?"
No I have not, but I can imagine it's a riot :)
political correctness was created by humanity to be ridiculed and shat on. GOD FUCK THE POLITICIANS!!
A freind of mine has that book! I never read it though, Not a fan of fictitious books myself.
I had that book read aloud to my entire class in year 6.

My friend has it and I've only read part of one story.
Back on track, another example of over-the-top political correctness is a story I read on the internet. I have not yet attempted to validate it. It is deliciously absurd without being completley unbelievable.
An elementary school in America has banned tag. When the principal was quentioned on his decision, he said that in Tag, one person is isolated and subject to ridicule (the "it" person). Everyone else avoids "it" causing emotinal damage to "it."
or how about the woman who won the idiot of the year award for trying to ban harry potter.
I agree completely. Why change something when no one is offended by it? If you think something is offensive, ask the person it is supposedly offending if it is offensive.
the worst is people who are so blind and stupid that they can't possibly imagine there is anything wrong with forcing their views on other people.
infact that is one of my fundamental dislikes about the human race.
whats madness is using the term "Politicaly Correct" in the first place. Its just a term produced by governments to justify thought crime laws, like in 1984.
there is too much political correctness, but then it's kind of stupid as they do not let muslims wear veils or christians wear crosses but they ban things in their name which they don't care about, the thing they do they ban

I am extremely offended by your hatred and ridicule of the sight-challenged.
Now, now, Legatissimo, hatred is not a word we should be using, as the connotation is so strong that it may offend MrFingers. You might want to consider rephrasing the sentence as:
"I am extremely offended by your seeming dislike and ridicule of the sight-challenged."
Extremely is a form of expression, which some may find offensive!

MrFingers. I am sorry if I offended you. Sometimes I just get so angry and I say things that I regret. I hope you can find it in your blind-hating heart to forgive me.
yeah "extremely" implies an anomalitic outlaying position which could easily make some people wet their pants. plus it's closely related to the word "extremists", which we all know makes 50% of americans wet their pants every time it is said.
extremists.
*buys more diaper company's stocks*
extremists.
Great. Now I have to go change my pants.
No problem, I'll wait till you get back before I say it again.
Okay, I'm back now.
Can I say it?
Please don't.
I always keep a spare next to my computer just incase this situation should arise.
wtf?!
Needless to say...
Well, I just won't say it.
