You'd have thought a fresh year would make people feel positive, however i read somewhere that the 1st of January has on average the most suicides of any day.
anyone know if this is true?
i never heard it before but it doesnt make a lot of sense to me.. i wouldve thought the most deaths would be.. meh well i cant think of a day wen people would actually think its a good time to kill themselves

Almost twice as many people commit suicide on the 1st of the month than the 31st.
Over all more people die on the first than the thirty first. This thread sounds familiar. Didn't this happen for the Disney ride fact?

If i had to guess february 29 has the fewest suicides of any day.
January first has the most of any particular date in a year.
It should be noted, however, that many suicides occur on dates when final report cards/grades come out among high schoolers and college students. Many school systems deliberately stagger the days each school releases grades for that very reason.

I believe you're right, Athena. That's when February will go to 30 days, and August to 30 as well. I forget which other month loses a day... can't be October. December??
