    The full name for the city of LA is "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Poriuncula." Wouldn't that make it the longest city/state name (obviously when followed by California)?

    Yes, however last time I checked, it is not 1850.

    I think what Tephy means is that in about 1850, the name was shortened to Los Angeles.
