On June 8th you posted "On May 9, 2006, Bernard Ellula became the one hundredth person to be killed by a computer mouse."
I searched for information about this for some time and found nothing but people quoting your site. What exactly constitutes a computer mouse related death? Are the victims electrocuted? Perhaps there is a sociopathic murderer who uses a computer mouse as part of his MO. Or did all 100 of these poor deceased individuals die of carpal tunnel syndrome?
I would appreciate it if you would enlighten me as to the details of these untimely deaths so that I myself will be able to use proper caution when using such a dangerous a device as a computer mouse.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had choked to death on the computer mouse ball. I myself had been trying to open that damn little "door" to get the mouse ball out with my teeth, and when I finally did get it open, the ball went down my throat! I ended up swallowing it after gagging for about 30 seconds -- scary! I went to the hospital and they did an X-Ray, but they said it should pass through fine, and it did, thankfully. Unsurprisingly, I did not attempt to retrieve it and ended up buying an optical mouse.
Your story sounds rather fantastical - the dynamics of actually opening the little "door" with your teeth are somewhat mind boggling particularly because for the ball to fall down your throat you would have had to have your head completely tilted back - but if it is true, I highly doubt that 100 other people have shared your experience with a less happy ending.
I'm glad you've choosen to invest in an optical mouse which will surely be less hazardess to your health.
I can vouch for Taed, I helped him square away the paperwork for making a claim to his Gullible.info medical insurance plan.
One of my friends recently had his neck entangled with a mouse cord when he fell asleep while typing up an email. Fortunately for him, his cousin happened to be in the room at the time and was able to untangle him. Very close call.
The untimley death of Bernard Ellula was actually a murder. He got into a fight with his recently divorced wife, who sustained many serious injuries during the fight. I would rather not go over much more of the details, for I knew Bernard's wife's brother, who wishes to remain nameless. I never did get the chance to meet Bernard. I have to stop now.
It's too difficult a topic for me to discuss.
The really mind boggling case of "death by computer mouse" was 26 year old Justin Gabel. His was reported as a murder by the Chicago police, apparently the attacker used the mouse cord to strangle poor Justin. The trippy part is that Justin only owned a cordless mouse... How you get strangled by the invisible cord is beyond me, but its pretty interesting nonetheless.
One person received a thread "I'm going to ram my computer mouse down your throat" in a chatroom. He thought it was somebody just being dumb. 45 minutes later, he was dead.
well the british TV series QI is quite useful for showing facts similar to gullible info but all of theres are researched by college proffessors and university professors.
but anyway it states that 2 people died in the UK from death by tea cozy in 2005 (that stupid wooly thing u put on old teapots),how an earth you'd die from a tea cozy i have no idea.but even funnier is that its a 5% decrease from 2004.
you should see the show it proves such things as that there are 2 moons around the earth, but 1 of them are only visible through telescopes, because they have weird orbits you don't see them often either but NASA doesnt count the second as a moon
"How many moons does the Earth have?" was asked. Alan Davies had, in the previous series, been given negative points for answering "One" to the same question, due to the presence of the asteroid Cruithne which has an orbital resonance with Earth (although it is not normally defined as a natural satellite)..
this was taken from the book as advertised on http://www.qi.com/shop/item.php?id=132
