In 2001, a now discomissioned advertisement agency (averaged 15 employees), did an experiment (Correct me if this is the wrong term.), to see how much money thier company could save by using the Interobang (The ! and ? symbol combined.).
It seems that in the one year that they used this symbol, they had saved 4 million US Dollars, from campaigns, and invoices using the Interobang had saved them tons of money. Of course, this trend continued, but a few years later, they were brought up by the Supreme Court, and shut down, as this was not one of the legal US characters, and thus now they are discommisioned.
Sad to hear, but what do you think should happen? I believe that the Interobang should be kept out as a legal Character, and remian illegal, as this much inflation per advertisment campaigns (Averaged $4.45 per sheet of paper used), our economy would crash, as more people would need to join these agencies to keep up with the job supply, and ultimatelly lead to the United States becoming ruled by an advertisement agency, not a democracy.
Post your opinions.
How did using that character save them money?
I believe the thingie is called an 'interrobang.'
Well, they wouldn't have to type a question mark or an exclamation point, they could just use the thingie. Also, their keyboards would just have to have one key instead of two, and those are just off the top of my head.
Sorry for the confusion, as it is an Interobang. Edited Post.
Legatissimo, does the term "Do you want to be your own boss!?!?!?!" Mean anything to you? Of course my math could be off by a long-shot, but with high costs of ink for printers, the ratio was quite large.
Linj, thank you, sorry about the error.
Adinsx, no, it was not a symbol on the keyboard, as they would need to either program their own, or buy custom keyboards. Of course they saved tons of money on this, but whenever they wanted to add an interobang, they had to go to Insert -> Special Characters -> Puncuation -> Search -> Interobang, doing these steps saved them tons of money, but also approx. 14 seconds were wasted everytime they used this symbol, if anyone would like to try and hunt down for the Time to Money ratio, be my guest.
This sounds very questionable. Why is this "now discomissioned" agency not named? How is this $34 M figure calculated?
Most importantly, why are none of the facts on gullible.info listed with sources?
Quite a few of the facts have sources, look for phrases such as "According to..." or "XXX has reported...".
If it isn't sourced, then it's the product of one of our researchers, namely our own original research.
I dont understand how this symbol can save any significant amount of ink because the amount of ink it would take to print out one of these symbols is more than that of a regular exclamation or question mark. Meaning that if I only wanted to state a question, i could use a question mark, but if there was only the interrobang then i would be forced to use that symbol which takes up more ink than the original question mark. How does that save ink?
For the very small amount of uses of both ! and ? marks - !? - the interrobang might save a negligible amount of ink, but how could it possibly save millions of dollars?

You're misusing the Interrobang's purpose. It isn't just for use of a question, or just for the use of an exclamation. It's for the conjunction of both at once, which saves money in both time efficiency and ink cost; when used widely and abroad, it can save millions.
The interrobang is actually a common character in chess notation, for a move that seems questionable and yet outstanding at the same time: a queen sacrifice, perhaps.
I can remember the source, but the website is no longer active. So I didnt bother posting it until now.

Ss well as my ex-wife's cousin being one of the owners.
And I apologize, the number was not 34 million, but actually 24 million. My bad.
My apologies for not listing a travel agency that a former relative owned. Just wanted to protect his name.

Over time few cents can add up to tons of money over the years. This is figured out by projected income 5 years and up before the use of the interrobang, and then the latest years.
Udoboy, yet the queen's sacrifice is either a folley, or a hidden agenda of an opponent.
I belvie I have found the case study you have been referring to. In 1994 the Centre for Public Opinion Research (CPOR) in Poland ran a study to determine the most effective visual display style in magazine publications for increasing subscription base. The study polled over 50,000 in a random sample to represent 12.34 million subscribers , asking them to rate the most visually appealing aspects of the magazines Gazeta Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita, and Polityka. The ratings were arranged on a 0-9 scale, zero being the least visually appealing, nine being the most. In June 2003, 11 months before the study began, Gazeta Wyborcza began using the interrobang in headlines to save space. The participants in the study rated the interrobang as the overall most appealing aspect of the magaize, and many openly admitted that the only reason they picked up the paper in the first place was because of the interrobang. Of the 53,942 participants 44,872 gave the interrobang a higher rating than all other visual fields. The interrobang received a shocking overall rating of 7.981. When coupled with subscribtion costs, CPOR estimates the interrobang was directly responsible for over 3.46 million in gross profits during the 11 month period between the indroduction in of the interrobang and the beginning of the study. This number correlates quite evenly with the increase in subscribership to Gazeta Wyborcza during that pariod, an increase which did not occur in other local magazines. Who knew would’ve though a little character could be worth so much!?!?
Wow. That's really cool, Dr. Don.
It seems like human nature to be genuinely interested in uniqueness, so the interrobang would probably spark some curiosity to readers. Personally, I think that using ?!?!s are unsophisticated and unprofessional.
Oh my, extremely unproffesional.
Why yes it is, but it was in the following years that a ex-member of the CPOR, formed this advertisement agency. Great find, Ive been searching for that for weeks.
