    I don't think this is accurate. It sounds too much like the movie from the early 80's called "The Gods Must be Crazy" where an African tribe finds a coke bottle that was dropped from a plane and they think it is a gift from the gods and worship it.

    Actually, I've seen that movie, and I believe that it wasn't that they worshipped the bottle, but that they started realizing all the uses for this strong material and began to aruge over who got to use it. A tribes man was later sent to get rid of the object by throwing it off the edge of the earth because it was causing social problems.
