I've been wondering this for a while so I thought I'd throw it out here and see what happens...

I do the NY Time Crossword Puzzle on a regular basis and I admit that later in the week, as the puzzle gets harder, I'll use a Google or Yahoo search to help me with some of the tougher clues. I wonder if there's a correlation between some unusual searches and those keywords being clues in that day's puzzle. Any ideas?

Oh, I'm sure. A few months ago, I was looking at the Ask Jeeves searches done by others, and the oddest one showed up: "What is the word that means in a manner similar to a fjord?" I thought that just had to be the stupidest Ask Jeeves question ever, so I had mentioned it to a few people, and one of them said something like, "Of course! Ask Jeeves! I haven't been able to get that one! That was on yesterday's crossword!"

The answer, surprisingly enough, was "fjordishly". I bet a lot of people were stumped on that one.
