Perhaps you meant 4 miles to the gallon?
At a track like Daytona, where one lap equals 2.5 miles, the cars will run at or just above 200 mph for the entire lap. The cars will be able to go at least 30 laps without refueling, or 45 miles. The car had better not have more than 22 gallons of fuel on board (that would be against the rules), so they will be getting at least 2 miles to the gallon.

Petey, 30 laps is 75 miles if 1 lap is 2.5 miles. This puts the minimum at 3.4 mpg.
