Apparently gendale light is polarised differently to normal light. I have heard that the Djibouti squirrel can see it, because as well as the normal rods and cones in their eyes they have hemispheres.

That squirrel is actually near extinction, unfortunately, because of local famine and also over-eager scientists. Some tasty meat, though, beats sea turtle and condor by a long shot.
