The problem I have is that my monitor doesn't show it. I hope to get a new RGBG screen soon.

Ironic I'm joining just now and this is the first thread I pick up...a bit late to the party I know...I've been reading Guillible for a while now but haven't taken a look at the forums...I'm upset with myself mostly because this forum actually seems to contain civil people...which says a lot in today's internet.

About the whole Gendale business...I've been thinkin of adding LSD to my list of "tried thingies" but haven't yet...I've read everything, tried all the tests ect...just a couple things...

Trying to see things in a negative image while closing your eyes is strange in the way that you almost have to operate your eyes as though they're open...by that I mean you actually have to focus through the blackness...almost look beyond it...which is the same way you perceive "magic eyes" ironiclly...when your eyes are out of focus (i.e. not focusing on the same thing) and right angles and shapes overlap, they appear to us as though in another demention...control that and you get a 3d image on paper...

As far as the whole Benham's top thingy...when I see the halo, it's for a split second, as aforementioned. Focusing harder on the shape, I just see a big circle...but for that split second I see a color I can't identify...as I said it's there for a, yeah, split second, so it's hard to say...I hate this whole "you can see it if you know what you're looking for" thing as I'm not sure I do know...

But yeah, this is a cool topic/forum, so I'm sure you'll see me `round...

Welcome Jester. There is an "introduce Yourself" thread so perhaps you would like to post to that?

Judging from your other postings and the smiley you use you are quite an evil person but that's just first impressions.

By the way, this flatscreen monitor displays the new forum color in a purplish color. BUT, when I turned the monitor around and looked at it through a series of four mirrors and a lightly yellow-tinged window, I clearly saw the background color as gendale.

I think somebody put something in my Dr. Pepper too.

  7.

On Vista, there's a Gendale setting. I tried clicking it here but my ancient monitor doesn't display!

My new RGBG monitor does display gendale under IE7, but it looks like it's not supported in Firefox.

  8.

Or you could buy an I-phone. They've got the "GEN Halo" background that's really unreal.

  9.

    ...mmm...

And it looks better under halogen lights?

  10.

    With halo-tosis.

( That's not as funny as it sounded in my head.)

Nice link FT. I haven't seen a better brain-comprehensible explanation of why 10 dimensions holds all possible options. The problem is that for string theory the fourth dimension displayed is not really time as we know it, but its use makes it understandable. The bit I have never been able to get my head round is why vibrations in the 10th dimension are available to us as three dimensional particles.

I'm getting too old and lazy to study the maths, these days. I bottled out at basic Quantum Theory. My first look at string theory stuff made as much sense to me as Vietnamese.

Hmm I tried the magic eye thing again and the whole pic turned into this brownish color, including the part that used to be the white circle. I think this is just an illusion, as brown is the combination of red gree and blue. However, I tried the benham's disk and before closing my eyes I saw a light purplish color on some of the rings. When i closed my eyes...it's hard to explain...I saw a halo without seeing it...it was only there for a second and it seemed like I couldn't focus on it or something, like the visual equivalent of not being able to get out ofa room i a bad dream or something...

And yes I know this is a very old thread. I don't care as this is one of my favorites.

(Sorry for my spelling but the "n" key on my keyboard is broken.)

One of my favorites, too, User.

It's been said before, but don't be down on yourself if you can't see it quite yet. It's sort of like perfect pitch, some people can click right away but others have to practice. (incidentally, it took me a while to figure out the secret...)
