"A fully-decayed adult brontosaurus will result in just 2 barrels of oil."
To the best of my knowledge, a brontosaurus never really existed.
"Everyone knows that Dino off the show Flinstones is a Brontosaurus but do you know that Brontosaurus' never existed? Not that your teachers and the books you read were intentionally lying to you. It's just that wrong information has a way of getting around.
The bones that were put together to construct the Brontosaurus actually came from more than one dinosaur. The man who 'found' the Brontosaurus came across the body of an Apatosaurus, except the head was missing. He used the head of the closest dino he could find, which actually belonged to a Camarasaurus. He put these fossils together and named the 'new' dino Brontosaurus."

Good catch, this was a mixup in the final editing stage. The fact was actually a mixture of two that had been submitted in the same batch. The oil fact was supposed to read: "A fully-decayed adult apatosaurus will result in just 2 barrels of oil." and the other fact that was eventually culled from that update was supposed to read: "Charles Babbage, the man who 'discovered' the brontosaurus -- which was actually made from the fossils of two different dinosaur species -- spent 14 years lobbying the Royal Academy of Paleontology to change the 'species' name to the Babbagosaurus."
Somehow the two must have gotten mixed up by the person who transcribes our exclusively typewriter-written internal communication into HTML. I noticed this error early on the morning of the 18th, and I submitted an error correction form (form 1032.4C.3) to corporate later that day. The change should be made sometime in the next 12 hours, after they've had a chance to review all the supporting documentation I submitted with my request.
Just got word that the change went through. Thanks again!
