this was posted a while ago in February 2005:
"Henry Winkler, who played Arthur Fonzarelli on the show Happy Days, is celebrated in his hometown of Ulliott, Minnesota with a small statue depicting a closed hand with a thumb raised skyward."

When I first heard this I thought, holy crap I need to go there but on further inspection it seems either it's a typo or that city doesnt exist. Henry Winkler is also credited as being born in New York about a million times including IMDb. I'm thinking it was a joke but if so it was a cruel one because that got my hopes up.

    Two things.

First, you're right about Ulliot. It should say Upsala.
I have discussed this matter with Huertas, who posted the fact, and he has since tendered his resignation.

    Second,there's a difference between a hometown and a birthplace.

Hometown: The town (or city) where you grew up or where you have your principal residence

Birthplace: The place where someone was born

Henry Winkler was born in New York, but his family moved to Upsala when he was 2.

I went to visit my friend in Minnesota last summer (I live in Texas and boy do I love to get away in the summer), and we visited the statue. It brought a tear to my eye. And then those merchandising vampires took me for $35 for a memento statue. It sits on my mantle.

yes, i saw it too, when i was passing through Minnesota on my own personal "visit-all-the-states-before-they-get-too-fat-to-be-able-to-allow-tourists-in" tour of the US. i thought it was quite a clever little joke myself. but it definitely exists.
